Wettingen Cantonal School (KSWE) New west wing building

The Cantonal School of Wettingen (KSWE) is located on the monastery peninsula in Wettingen and uses a large part of the former monastery and other cantonal and rented properties scattered across the monastery peninsula. In order to meet the growing demand for classrooms, it was decided to demolish the gymnasium in the west wing, which had long been unsuitable for school sports, to repurpose the west wing and to construct a new building on the site of the former Hönggerhaus. The new west wing building contains 11 classrooms, a learning hall on the ground floor and a gallery in the attic, and is located directly adjacent to the main building. During construction, great care was taken to ensure that the new building blends in with the existing architecture and that the existing historic and listed foundation walls are preserved.

Lighting, shading, CO2 measurement and visualisation are controlled by a KNX control system.

Aare Limmat Elektro AG was commissioned to carry out all the electrical installations. The entire electrical installation was redesigned and now complies with the latest technical standards.
