Renovation of exterior lighting at Wettingen Monastery
The existing exterior lighting of Wettingen Abbey was given to the population 20 years ago to mark the 100th anniversary of the Wettingen electricity and water works. The requirements and regulations regarding light pollution and energy efficiency have increased in recent years and so the lighting needs to be replaced with a contemporary and modern solution. The aim of the lighting design and technical realisation is to achieve an optimal spatial perception of Wettingen Abbey with as little lighting as possible.
To this end, modern LED projectors with warm white light are being used. The mask inserts, which were produced according to the local conditions, ensure that the light is only directed to where it can be seen. The night sky, windows and other sensitive areas are left out. The use of energy-efficient lights saves around a third of the energy required.
Aare Limmat Elektro AG was commissioned to carry out the electrical installations. The electrical installations in question were newly installed and correspond to the current state of the art.
